Description
1980/V Triumph TR8 LHD V8 Coupe. This car is a genuine Triumph TR8 V8 Coupe Auto left hand drive car with a build date of 9 July 1979. Finished in Inca yellow with a black cloth interior. The car has its original V8 3528cc engine coupled with a Borg Warner 3 speed automatic gearbox. This car requires a full restoration but it is our view that it could potentially be an interesting and rewarding project. The car has a recorded mileage of 48714 miles and is believed to be genuine. When supplied, factory equipment included a laminated windscreen, catalyst exhaust, inertia reel seatbelts, air conditioning and power assisted steering, History: Built on 09/07/1979 for the North American market. Owned and used in the USA for almost its entire life, the last USA owner resided in Illinois. In March 2021 the car was sold by its owner in Illinois to a private enthusiast in the UK. It was imported back to the UK in August 2021 and UK registered on 1st July 2022. Bodywork: Will require a full strip, welding, restoration and respray. Interior: Originally built and supplied with a beige interior. It now has a black interior so has clearly been either replaced or recovered. Engine: The car retains its original engine and will require removal and overhaul. Chassis and underneath: I have tried to examine and photograph. The floor and chassis are surprisingly good in some areas and in others will require welding and restoration. Please See *** for more information and pictures.
