Mg MGB for £7,995

Description
1975 N MGB GT Manual with overdrive. This very early rubber bumper MG was built in 1975, the year chrome bumpers were replaced with rubber bumpers, to satisfy the stringent American safety standards. As the years have passed, the rubber bumper cars, have now become very desirable, surpassing the earlier models. as a far superior driving car, with its more refined ride, superior brakes, fully synchromesh gearbox, with overdrive, comforting seats and modern dashboard and interior. The fashion at one time of converting rubber bumper cars to chrome seems to in the most part have passed, with many owners now preferring the standard look of the later car. The car looks stunning, finished in Blaze red, with black contrasting orginal cloth interior and chrome factory fitment Rostyle wheels. A very original car, used regularly and well maintained by its last owner of 8 years. The bodywork is exceptional and the paintwork is outstanding with a lovely lustre & depth of shine. The interior, seats, headlining, door cards and carpets are very good. The underside, floors, sills, and inner wing turrets all appear to be solid and have been well protected over the years by Ziabart treatment. The engine bay is very tidy indeed. The car drives really well, the renowned B series 1798cc engine starts on the button, with excellent oil pressure. It sounds lovely with its well balanced twin SU carburrettors and stainless exhaust. The 4-syncromesh gearbox is great with a precise change and the overdrive engages smoothly on 3rd and 4th gears, working just as it should. The servo assisted brakes are superb. Recent works carried out including overhauled brakes, new front calipers, rear brake shoes, cylinders, front flexi brake hoses and brake fluid change. Four brand new tyres and new stainless steel exhaust have just been fitted. Engine service including oil, filter, spark plugs and fuel filter, plus new coil, and alternator, In summary, a very orginal, unmolested, well maintained car retaining its orginal period Phillps radio cassette. The recorded mileage is 18000 miles although this cannot be guaranteed due to the age of the car. Now classed as a historic car it qualifies for free road tax and although Mot exempt, the car has a full 12months Mot with no advisories.
