Description
After the positive reception of the all-new Land Rover Discovery model in 1989, a decision was made to assign a distinct name to the traditional Land Rover, giving birth to the Defender. This transformation extended beyond a mere rebranding effort. The Defender introduced a new turbo diesel engine that delivered notable enhancements in maximum power, torque, and fuel efficiency compared to the older naturally aspirated diesel it succeeded. Adorned with prominent Defender emblems, Land Rover continued its continuous evolution during the 1990s, adding standard disc brakes and power-assisted steering, among other improvements. Surprisingly, despite its clear connection to the original 1948 Land Rover, the Defender maintained a remarkably loyal customer base. In fact, in the UK, it even surpassed the sales of the Range Rover in 2013. The traditional Land Rover Defender reached the end of its production in 2016, leading to a series of special edition models. Among them, the Adventure Edition stands out, incorporating distinctive interior and exterior features, such as leather seats, LED headlights, a snorkel, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and underbody protection. The production of the Adventure Edition was limited to 600 units in the UK and offered in three colors: Yulong White, Corris Grey, and Phoenix Orange. This particular example is one of the 600 right-hand drive models produced for the UK market. It was originally delivered in September 2016, making it one of the last ever to be registered. The vehicle sports a striking Phoenix Orange exterior with contrasting elements in Santorini Black, including the roof, tailgate, bonnet, and front grille, all complementing the Black Premium leather interior.
