Jaguar XJ-SC Targa for £11,995
SummaryThis wonderful Jaguar Targa Top XJS-C V12 has a warranted 66,000 miles and an extensive history pack. Supplied in Solar Blue with Tan leather and only 5 previous owners and over £6k spent on it in the last it even has its original toolkit! Now becoming very rare and increasingly collectable this really is a great opportunity to own such an up and coming everyday useable classic.HistoryIntroduced in 1983 the ingenious Targa top XJ-SC was released initially with only the AJ6 six cylinder engine option. Customers had to wait until 1984 before the mighty V12 version became available.Originally supplied by Richard Cox at Paramount Jaguar, Pentagon Island, Derby on the 3rd September 1987. Since then it has passed to only 5 previous owners and only covering 66,000 miles! You can be sure it has had a very easy life indeed, that shows when you fire up that beautifully designed 5.3 litre V12 engine. It literally purrs like a Big Cat should.Interior.As you would expect from a luxury grand tourer, it really is a great place to be once settled into the heated seats, with a wonderful patina that you would expect from the 66,000 miles the tan leather interior compliments the Solar Blue exterior wonderfully, in fact the only area showing the vehicles age is the slight cracking on the walnut gear lever trim.ExteriorThe Solar blue bodywork is truly lovely, with no damage and near spotless paintwork, the rare Targa roof is easy to open and will store in the original storage bags on the boot giving you that wonderful wind in your hair experience. In fact the boot area still looks lovely and well presented, the jack is still in its matching bag and unbelievably the full original toolkit is still with the car. The only blemish is a few marks on the roof by the windscreen where the previous owner got a little eager with a jet wash.Engine, transmission and chassisWell, what can we say that has not been said a million times about the Jaguar HE 5.3 V12 engine? With a kick down that will rocket the car forward leaving you to sink into the lush leather seats this wonderful example of the V12 engine will soon be pushing the speed limits before you know it, if like us you drive a little more sedately you will be impressed with how smooth and enjoyable the car is to drive, it genuinely does not miss a beat and aligned to the automatic gearbox with is smother than a babies proverbial you may be forgiven for wondering if it is actually running. Stunning!Let us not forget the aesthetics of this 66,000 miler because it really is extremely pleasing on the eye, well presented and extremely clean you will not be disappointed when you open the bonnet.Wheels, tyres and brakes. With only a few minor marks on the matching five alloy wheels and tyres that will not need replacing for some time we think the Jaguar Starfish wheels suit the sleek lines of the XJS better than any of the other factory wheels of this era. We have driven the XJS some 80 miles and it brakes steers and tracks immaculately.Additional information. This is one of less than 30 V12 Targa XJS-Cs left and probably one of the lowest mileage and best examples, we challenge you to find a better one and as such encourage a test drive, we believe you will not be disappointed.Thank you for looking. We would be very happy to supply any more information anyone would like or answer any questions. Just let us know.
