With just 1 former owner and 31,000 miles from new, this car is virtually blemish free thank to its fastidious current mature owner who has maintained the car with absolutely no expense spared. It’s possible to trace the history and lineage of Ferrari’s long bonnet, front engine flagships back to the legendary 250 GT SWB of the 1960’s and Ferrari launched the 599 GTB in 2006 as the successor to the 575M Maranello. Styled by Pinninfarina, the 599 was was named after its engine displacement of 5,999cc. The 6.0 V12 was a re-formatted version of the power unit used in the acclaimed Enzo model and produced 612bhp @ 7600rpm giving a power to weight ratio of 362bhp per tonne compared to the 291bhp per tonne produced by its 575 predecessor. The 599 used an all-aluminium chassis to reduce weight whilst increasing shell stiffness whilst advanced underbody aerodynamics were used to significantly improve high speed downforce. The 599 was available with the F1 Auto Paddle-Shift transmission which featured their latest ‘superfast’ software which in the fastest setting could change gears in 100 milliseconds, whilst semi-active adjustable dampers adjusted the ride and handling to suit the driving mode selected on the steering wheel controls. The car also featured Ferraris latest Traction Control system ‘F1-Trac’ and incorporated a ‘Launch Control’ option for the F1 transmission. Huge Carbon-ceramic brakes measuring 398mm at the front and 360mm at the rear were a factory option offering upgraded braking performance. This particular example has been owned by the current fastidious owner since February 2010 and presents beautifully with un-blemished original Metallic Black paintwork and complimenting un-marked Crème leather interior. The 20’’ alloy wheels show off the optional huge optional carbon-ceramic brakes with bright yellow brake callipers which complement the Scuderia Ferrari wing shields. Internally the car features a beautifully finished crème leather interior with Daytona Trimmed Sports seats and Carbon Trim whilst the yellow tachometer display nicely ties in with the external yellow features. The Interior leather, trim and carpets are all in immaculate condition with no major signs of wear and all electrical items work as intended. The standard equipment list is impressive whilst this example also features the BOSE sound system and nice touches such as the steering wheel mounted ‘shift’ lights and the Carbon trim ads a touch of contrast to the classic leather clad cabin.
