Triumph 2000 for £19,495

Description
1949 Triumph 2000 Roadster in Black with tan interior and a black mohair hood. Introduced in late 1948, the Triumph 2000 Roadster shared the same flamboyant styling and dickey seat as its Frank Callaby-penned predecessor, 1800 of 1946. Based around a near-identical ladder-frame chassis equipped with independent front suspension, hydraulic shock absorbers, and four-wheel drum brakes, the newcomer benefited from the adoption of a more refined hypoid-bevel rear axle. Considerably torquier than the unit it replaced, the new Standard-Triumph 2088cc OHV four-cylinder engine made for a notably more relaxed performer. Such was the Roadsters newfound in-gear flexibility that the decision was taken to provide three rather than four forward speeds. Still bodied in Birmabright alloy over an ash frame, the 2000 used more panel bracing than the 1800 and thus provided a tauter drive. With a production run of only two years, just 2, 000 2088cc-powered Roadsters are thought to have been made. Registered in July 1948 KNG 245 is presented in Black with contrasting tan leather interior which has a lovely patina. The car had a restoration in 1977 with the invoice on file and has been owned by its current keeper since 1984, always kept dry stored and only used on sunny days. The restoration really has stood the test of time, there is some light wear and tear but is still in a lovely condition for a car of this age and a car that hasnt been restored in over 40 years. On collection this Roadster fired into life and drove extremely well with a great engine pull and smoth gears on the coloumn change, I drove her the 30 minutes from collection and thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful car. The car is only being sold due to old age but has been well cared for a loved over its ownership, it is now ready to be enjoyed in new hands. Absolutely any inspection is welcome, and viewing is highly recommended. All major debit cards accepted. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please call for any further
