The Nissan Patrol is a true off-roader. This extremely large off-roader has been designed to conquer almost any terrain no matter how challenging.
The Nissan Patrol has been around for quite some time. This vehicle was not designed for comfort it is a very capable and competent 4X4 and doesn’t make any claims to being soft or comfortable.
There Patrol has some rivals left in this sector, such as the Toyota Land Cruiser, Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Mitsubishi Shogun. They are all large gas guzzling vehicles that are designed to be quite rugged.
The Patrol performs better off-road than on. Its torque is ideal for tromping through the mud or gravel, but on the motorway the 3.0-litre turbo diesel feels out of its element and struggles to deliver a quality ride.
The Nissan Patrol SVE model offers more in the way of refinement and creature comforts. Features such as leather seats and sat-nav are offered with the SVE version. This car is strictly for experienced drivers and requires a good deal of skill to maneuver around town.
The Patrol is not a dainty car but it can be useful for those who frequently find themselves off the road. It handles well in challenging weather conditions.
