DRIVER'S SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT,
Description
A nod to its own past and heritage, as well as its former advertising slogan of 'grace, pace and space,' comes in the shape of this Jaguar S-Type. With its retro styling, even the name is a throwback to the well-regarded Sixties model of the same name. Back then, an S-Type was the bank robbers' choice of getaway car because it offered the power of the Mk2 model combined with the E-Type's independent rear suspension. Nowadays, bank robberies are thankfully rare, but the suspension on a Jaguar remains every bit as sophisticated and offers extremely comfortable yet sharp handling. This particular model was registered in late March 2007, and is finished in a slightly unusual colour scheme of bright metallic silver with a two-tone coffee and cream interior. The combination does work well, though, with the interior being a light and airy place to sit. This one also offers plenty of wood and leather in the finest Jaguar tradition. Where this one moves away from its spiritual successors is in its 2.7 litre diesel engine. It offers plenty of torque, and the car scoots down the road with a surprising turn of speed. The auto gearbox makes the gear changes almost imperceptibly, and because it's a Jaguar, the engine noise is suppressed to a faint thrum. All in all, it's a most pleasant experience. Total mileage for the car is just under 107,000 miles, which is barely anything on this engine. There are a few minor age-related marks on the body, which can only be expected, but nothing whi
