1980 Ford Cortina 1.6 L Saloon MK V. Cosmos Blue with Brown Savannah Cloth trim. This amazing Cortina had just 1 owner from new up until 2019 some 39 years before it was rescued and treated to a 5 year labour of love nut and bolt ground up restoration. First registered on 11th January 1980 to Mr Kenneth Childs of Cambridge he was the one and only owner up to the point of restoration and the car has covered just 61,000 miles from new. As you can see no expense has been spared with everything either rebuilt, repaired or replaced. The shell was completely refurbished to an outstanding finish and as you can see all parts either refurbished or new old stock parts. The specification of the car is exactly as it left the Ford showroom back in 1980. The accompanying history file contains the original log book as well as the cars handbooks and showroom sales brochure as well as bills, and invoices for parts and works carried out. The 1.6 litre Pinto engine starts immediately with its Weber carburettor and manual choke and just sitting in the car transports you straight back to the early eighties. We think that this car is ready for any classic car show and undoubtedly would surely be one of the best on display.
