 Practicality 4/5
Skoda Fabia
Skoda Fabia
Skodas prices have increased as the quality of its cars have increased. Equipment levels are better and the car should hold residual value. The diesel variant is the best and most economical choice.

The Fabia’s space is reasonable and with storage areas and cubbyholes logically placed. Cars with air conditioning also receive cooled gloveboxes. The car's split/fold rear seats come in very handy, allowing larger items to be loaded with ease. The car's tailgate opens wide but due to the flat load lip loading and unloading can be a challenge.

The Fabia is not a complex car, and the controls and dials reflect that simplicity. The essential instruments are all adequately represented on the car’s fascia. The controls and displays are all large and easy to operate. The high-mounted stereo's controls are simple to use as well. The car’s steering wheel adjusts for both reach and rake.

The Fabia provides a very comfortable ride. The car's seats are supportive and comfortable, but larger passengers may not be as comfortable. Cabin space is good for front seat passengers. Rear space is more limited but will accommodate smaller passengers or children very well.

Access to the Skoda Fabia front seats is very good. Back seat passengers don’t have it quite as easy though and face more of a tight-fit if they're adults. Legroom is fairly modest in the back as well. Accessing the boot is a simple task and shouldn’t be problematic.

The Fabia is a small car. This makes the car very easy to manoeuvre into small spaces. The car's steering is light and requires little effort. The car provides good forward visibility and rear visibility is unhindered as well. Rear parking sensors are offered optional on selected variants.

 Life Style 3/5
Skoda Fabia
Skoda Fabia
The Fabia handles well and provides good grip. It drives well both in town and at motorway speeds. The car’s steering is light but offers enough feel on more challenging roads. All of the engines on offer are decent, but the turbo diesel engines are more potent and economical.

The Skoda Fabia probably wouldn’t be the most practical family car. Rear seating is limited, and may not easily accommodate a growing family. The boot is practically sized though and could easily store a stroller or family-sized shopping.

The Fabia would make an excellent first car. It’s an ideal size and affordably priced. The Fabia is also easy to drive and makes a lot of sense. The estate provides added versatility and is ideal for anyone seeking a compact loadlugger.

Skoda is not the same company that they used to be. Far from the company that used to cut quality in order to keep prices down they have evolved into a firm capable of producing quality cars with class, practicality and a good deal of personality. The firm has changed but buyers will be pleased to know that the company’s ethos on reliability have remained the same.
