The History of Kia

Kia is a South Korean automobile manufacturer that was originally founded in 1944. The Kia name literally means rising up or coming out of Asia. In 1944, the company began by manufacturing steel tubing and bicycles, and more recently in 1986 Kia partnered with Ford to create several domestic vehicles that were to be sold in Korea and imported to other countries as well.

In 1992, Kia expanded to the United States opening its first factory on US soil. Kia has successfully built factories in many regions throughout the United States and export to many other countries. The first generation was produced from 1999 to 2002 and the second generation of Carens was produced from 2002 to 2006. The current generation of Carens comes with a range of engine choices and has been produced from 2006 to the present.

The Kia Magentis is a mid-sized car introduced in Europe in 2002. The Magentis is a four-door sedan that has been produced in two generations. The first generation was produced from 2001 to 2006 and the second generation was produced from 2006 to the present.
