Materia - Life Style

The Daihatsu Materia’s boxy style with upswept styling line and tapering rear windows gives it an unforgettable visual image – helped by a high bonnet and near vertical drop front.
It is marketed to appeal to younger style-conscious families but it is also hoped to appeal to older people who will like its ease of access and deep doors.
In terms of price it is no bargain but a five-year unlimited mileage warranty is a big pull. The plastics used in the interior aren’t the best in the world but most edges are well finished and everything seems solidly put together.
As far as the environment is concerned the Materia’s emissions are high for a mini MPV.
It’s no warm hatch but the Materia does handle competently with precise steering and little body roll – a surprise given its height.

Terios - Life Style

The Terios has good driver appeal. It is easy to handle and operate, steering is really nice, and the car offers several valuable safety features. The car’s off road capabilities make navigating harsher terrain a breeze and yet it is capable of delivering a smooth, inexpensive, and comfortable ride in town.
The Diahatsu Terios could be used as a family vehicle. It offers enough seating for four and could reasonably accommodate a small family. It is durable enough to provide transportation for various family outings and has more boot space to accommodate most of the items that tend to come with family life (strollers, sports gear, etc). The cabin is also made of quality materials that could easily withstand a lot of abuse that children are sure to dish out.
The Terrios would make a fantastic first car. It is small in size and inexpensive to buy and run. Insurance would be low, and driving and parking the Terios is relatively easy. The driver sits up high and all-around visibility is excellent. The 4-wheel drive feature will come in handy as a new driver attempts to navigate various weather conditions.
Diahatsu has always been known for producing durable and dependable vehicles. Their use of inferior cabin materials has hurt them in the past, but they seem to be making up ground with some of their newer models that sport more high class, quality cabin materials; even if they are plastic.

Copen - Life Style

The Copen provides a decent driving experience. The little Daihatsu is front-wheel drive, and although it was not designed to be a sports car it does provide a sporty ride. The Copen provides somewhat of a rough ride and even with responsive steering it can prove tiresome on longer journeys. Overall the ride is pleasant and enjoyable especially with the top down.
The Daihatsu Copen is not a good family car. It is too small and has limited boot space. The Copen only provides seating for two, and when the top is down boot space is even more limited. The Copen would make a fun second car though or even a practical and stylish commuter car.
The Copen would make a good first car for those who could afford it. It is reasonably priced for what is on offer. Its small size and fast steering makes it easy to navigate even on crowded city streets and parking lots. Limited rear visibility would be the only downside to owning a Copen for a first car.
The Daihatsu Copen was quite a surprise. Daihatsu is better known for producing micro 4X4s and bargain priced city cars. The Copen is produced in a somewhat limited quantity and the lack of availability only seems to increase the little car’s popularity.
