 Practicality 3/5
Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper
The Cooper’s purchase price is quite costly, and after tallying in all the extra options the price climbs even higher. The car’s insurance tends to run high as well. The car is reliable and quality built so maintenance costs should be fairly low.

The Mini is a really small car and space is limited. The car provides cup holders and a small boot to help with minor storage needs, but the boot is not large enough to accommodate much.

The controls and displays are large and easy to operate. The quality of the plastics is questionable but seems to blend well with the car’s retro feel. The little Mini is rarely criticized for the quality of its cabin materials.

Wind and road noise are successfully minimized which is surprising for a car in this class. Engine noise is audible but not too annoying. The front seats are well designed and supportive. Some larger passengers may be less comfortable but for the most part the seats provide excellent levels of comfort.

Accessibility to the Mini Cooper front seats is good. The doors open wide enough and access is straightforward for the most part. Accessibility to the rear seats is much more limited and only children and smaller people should even try accessing the rear seats. The boot is small, but easily accessible.

Parking the Mini Cooper is super simple. The car provides good all-round visibility and steering is light at low speeds. The car’s small size makes it incredibly easy to park. Sensors are available on the options list but shouldn’t be necessary.

 Life Style 3.5/5
Mini Cooper
Mini Cooper
The Mini Cooper provides a good driving experience. The little car is cute and fun whether you have the Sports variant or not. The Mini handles exceptionally well and has no trouble making other drivers jealous. The over-sized gear knob and lively shift make the driving experience even better.

This is not a family car. The car’s small size and lack of cabin space make it an unlikely choice. The front seat provides ample room but the back seat is extremely limited. The car’s boot is also way too small to haul around family type items.

This would make an excellent first car. It’s easy to drive and handles well. Parking is not an issue and there is just enough space for a couple of friends. The only problem is the car’s price. The car will not be cheap and it will be difficult for most newly licensed drivers to afford the car and insurance premiums.

The Cooper has an excellent image and the firm’s image for producing reliable and quality products doesn’t hurt either. BMW’s association adds credibility to the product and gives BMW a much needed boost in the fun department.
