 Practicality 3.5/5
Ford S Max
Ford S Max
The Ford S-Max is slightly more expensive than a traditional hatch or estate and provides similar fuel economy. The diesel models return even more impressive fuel economy and performance.

The S-Max provides seating for seven and a decent boot as well. The third row of seats take up a lot of boot space, and the S-Max does not provide the roof-mounted storage units that its sister model does, but it does provide adequate storage cubbies around the cabin.

The Ford S-Max controls and dials are large and clear with easy to read displays. The S-Max’s system is very impressive and the driver information systems are similar to that of Audi. The basic functions are duplicated on the steering wheel for the driver’s convenience and instant usability is provided for buyers with a mobile phone.

All seats in the S-Max are geared toward comfort. The driver’s seat provides a comfortable driving position, and road, engine and wind noise have successfully been minimized. The S-Max delivers a very comfortable ride.

Accessibility to the Ford S-Max front seats is very good due to large door apertures. Access to the middle is almost as good, but access to the rear seats can be somewhat limited and are better suited for children. The S-Max’s doors tend to be very heavy and could pose a problem for some passengers.

Due to limited rear visibility the S-Max could be slightly difficult to park. Large side mirrors offer good assistance when parking the car, but parking sensors are a good idea and usually are affordably priced even from the options list.

 Life Style 3.5/5
Ford S Max
Ford S Max
The Ford S-Max has noticeably stiffer suspension settings than the Galaxy and is more responsive as a result. Both braking and steering have been enhanced in this model, and the S-Max is capable of delivering a very sporty ride.

The S-Max would make an awesome family car. It has the space available to accommodate up to seven passengers, five very comfortably. Its reasonably priced and delivers good gas mileage. The cabin offers some very refined features, and its fun to drive.

This would not make a very good first car. It is much too large for most first car drivers and has too much power proving to be a non-winning combination for an inexperienced or newly licensed driver.

The S-Max provides drivers with a people carrier that seats seven without sacrificing every bit of class and style. The exterior has been revamped and added curves for a more attractive look that hints at the car’s sporting capabilities. The cabin’s quality is high and feels very refined throughout the cabin.
