 Practicality 3.5/5
Ford Mondeo
Ford Mondeo
The Ford Mondeo is affordably priced, and diesel versions deliver good fuel economy. Insurance on the Mondeo should be very reasonable, but the car’s resale value tends to be low.

The Ford Mondeo cabin is spacious and comfortably accommodates front and rear passengers. The car’s boot is fairly large and can accommodate several suitcases or quite a few shopping bags. The govebox is large and very accommodating as well.

The Mondeo main controls in the cabin feel large and well placed. The cabin does not provide a classy or quality feel, but all of the controls and displays are functional and easy to use.

The abundance of cabin space coupled with the large supportive seats make riding in the Mondeo very comfortable, even on longer trips. Engine and road noise are tolerable and tyre noise is usually more prevalent on models fitted with the larger wheels.

Accessibility is good for all passengers. Front passengers enjoy more legroom, but legroom is good in the back too. Boot space provides easy access and loading and unloading shouldn’t pose much of a problem for most passengers.

Parking the Mondeo is not usually problematic. It provides reasonably good visibility and handles well. Parking sensors aren’t available for most models and must be selected from the options list. Most drivers will not need sensors because the car is fairly simple to park.

 Life Style 3.5/5
Ford Mondeo
Ford Mondeo
The Mondeo delivers a responsive ride and excellent handling. For a vehicle in this class it is very agile and some of the more performance oriented models are capable of delivering more power. The bodykits on offer also help to make the car look the part.

The Ford Mondeo would make a decent family car. It is spacious enough to accommodate a small family comfortably, and Isofix child-seat mountings come standard. The Mondeo would not be quite as accommodating for a family with larger kids.

The Mondeo is not likely to be the car of choice for most new drivers. There are many other choices available to better suit the needs of the younger drivers. The Mondeo is not fast and the styling is not exciting though it is attractive. This vehicle is not likely to appeal to very many novice drivers.

Ford’s image is that of a company who produces reliable and affordable cars. They are not known for producing high performance vehicles or showy vehicles, though the company has produced a couple of classy vehicles, these few cars in a long line of dependable, reliable cars produced to appeal to the masses in functionality and affordability are not likely to change the company’s image.
