 Practicality 3/5
Citroen C4
Citroen C4
The Citroen C4 offers good value for money and comes with a decent amount of standard kit in safety and comfort. The diesel variants should prove to be much more economical.

Front seat passengers will have plenty of head and legroom. The seats are supportive and cabin space is good. Rear passengers will not fair as well, but should be comfortable enough on shorter rides. The glovebox is a decent size and will help to keep things organized. The boot is also a decent sizeand loadspace can be increased when the rear seats are folded. The C4’s speedometer and gauges are located centrally atop the fascia. The digital climate control display is located below the audio unit making it a little difficult to reach and view. The C4’s steering wheelis very unique though, the wheel's central boss is fixed and just the rim moves, and the boss is surrounded by numerous controls for the audio unit, cruise control, trip computer, sat-nav and phone. It isn’t difficult to figure out and is actually very functional.

The Citroen C4 delivers a comfortable ride without sacrificing all driving pleasure. The ride is not too firm and not too soft. The seats are supportive and comfortable. Passenger space in the front seats is excellent and not too bad in the rear seats either. Engine and road noise are suppressed for the most part, unless the engine is really working hard.

Access to Citroen C4 interior is excellent for front seat passengers. Head and legroom are very good, but rear passengers don’t fair as well, it is a little more difficult to access the car’s rear seats, but once in passenger space should be adequate. The car’s doors are large and need adequate space to open. The car’s boot is a good size but the aperture could have been larger.

The C4 is an easy car to park. Thanks to the car’s power-steering and good all-round visibility the C4 is simple to place in even a small parking space. Care should be taken to remember the doors need a larger space in order to open widely. Rear visibility is somewhat limited but shouldn’t pose any major problems

 Life Style 3/5
Citroen C4
Citroen C4
The C4 delivers a very impressive ride with good levels of refinement the car delivers a zippy ride whether navigating through town or on the motorway. The steering is well weighted and the 2.0-litre petrol motor is ideal for hot hatch performance levels. C4 buyers will have little to complain about.

The Citroen C4 is not a very practical family car. It lacks the cabin space of traditional family carriers, and will not accommodate all the gear that is associated with family life. The C4 would also have a difficult time accommodating older children, there simply wouldn’t be enough cabin space.

In principal the C4 would make a good first car. It's affordable, easy to drive and all of the engine choices on offer are fairly quick. The C4 comes with a good standard level of safety and equipment. The three-door provides somewhat poor rearward visibility and novice drivers may want to select parking sensors from the list of options. Citroen has a history of manufacturing consevative cars with very little in the way of driver appeal. The C4 is the company’s attempt at breaking the mold and redefining itself. The quick little car with more hi-tech gadgets will do much to boost Citroen’s boring image.
