Citroen C2
Citroen C2
The Citroen C2 is an extremely cost effective car. Running costs are low, petrol and diesel engines provide good fuel economy and insurance rates are among some of the lowest in its class. Resale value for the C2 may be low but will depend largely on future performance and popularity.

The Citroen C2 four seat option frees up a lot of cabin space for passenger comfort, and the rear seat adjustments makes it possible to create a good amount of boot and storage space. The boot comes with a split-rear tailgate that conceals the storage space in the boot area.

Dashboard and steering controls mirror that of the car’s sister the larger C3. The rev counter looks neat but is not really reliable. It is also difficult to see where it is placed (the steering wheel tends to hide it). The rest of the controls are functional and work well.

The C2’s not much for comfort. The seats are adequate but the ride can be rather rough at times, and the cabin does a decent job of eliminating road and engine noise.

Accessibility to the Citroen C2 is limited. The seating arrangement requires that passengers sit down into the seats instead of sliding in and this could pose a problem for some passengers with limited mobility. Taller passengers have limited headroom in the rear seats but plenty of legroom. The steering wheel adjusts for height and reach.

The little C2 is very simple to park; it has great steering control and easily fits into parking spaces. Visibility can be somewhat limited due to thick side pillars, but parking sensors should not be necessary.

Citroen C2
Citroen C2
The Citroen C2 VTR and Citroen C2 VTS variants offer drivers stiffer suspension settings for more enthusiastic driving. Steering is really good on all models and the SensoDrive gearbox is one of the C2’s most attractive features.

The C2 would not make a very good family car. It is much too small to accommodate a family or family style cargo. It would make a better second vehicle or even a great commuter car.

This would make a great first car. It’s inexpensive to purchase, easy to drive, and small enough for easy navigation. Insurance and running costs are also low, making it an attractive choice for new drivers.

Despite the C2’s affordability, image will play a huge role in sales. The car’s image has been enhanced in order to appeal to a younger audience and to hopefully pick up buyers where the C3 left off. The C2 feels like a better quality vehicle and shouldn’t have any problem filling the void.
