Volvo XC60 Overview
The XC60 is a very new car which is still in its first generation and began as a concept in 2007. It is hailed as a brilliant family car ticking all the right boxes with great safety features, a spacious cabin and a smooth ride.
Background
The Volvo XC60 was originally produced in 2008 not long after it began as a concept car in 2007. Three different models have been made available to British costumers; the XC60 ES otherwise known as the Standard, the XC60 SE (Standard Extra) or the XC60 SE LUX (Standard Extra Luxury) which between them, have a different choice of engines and equipment.
The Volvo XC60 uses technology common in the 2007 Land Rover Freelander and uses a modified version of the Volvo Y20 platform.
The Volvo XC60 has not only been hugely successful sales wise, but as is now expected of Volvo, it has also been very successful regarding its safety. It was one of only three cars to receive the perfect score of 37/37 in EuroNCAP’s point based evaluation.
Summary
The Volvo XC60 is a splendid 4X4 family which should not be confused as an off roader. It is second to none safety-wise and this does compromise the car's classy good looks, or smooth drive.
