TVR Typhon Car Review
TVR Typhon

The TVR Typhon is a two-door coupe that boasts a 4.0-litre engine. The Typhon sports a sleek and stylish exterior design. The TVR firm has really outdone themselves this time with the Typhon’s modern and fresh exterior design.

The TVR-Typhon is rear-wheel drive with an automatic transmission. It comes with tinted windows, 18” wheels, and stainless steel exhaust pipes. The Typhon is a real head turner and has no problem backing up its sporty look with real performance.

The Typhon comes with a high level of standard equipment and boasts a good build quality. The Typhon delivers responsive steering and handles well. The TVR Typhon includes electronic driving aids that will help to keep the Typhon stable.

The Typhon’s cabin design is simple yet sporty. The TVR comes with a leather colour coded steering wheel, leather and aluminum trim, and a good sound system. Compared to past TVR models the Typhon delivers a good deal of kit.

The Typhon holds true to its TVR ancestors delivering a sporty, modern, and clean exterior design while backing up its image with performance that befits a true sportscar. Buyers will not be disappointed and even the most enthusiastic drivers will find the Typhon thrilling to drive and own.

TVR Typhon
TVR Typhon
The TVR Typhon will not be a cheap car to buy or operate. Fuel economy will be on the high side and so will insurance rates. Maintenance and running costs are likely to vary somewhat with each owner.

The Typhon was not designed for space but it does provide more than adequate space for the driver and passenger. Head and legroom is good but storage space is limited.

The TVR’s switchgear has a quality look and feel and further enhances the overall sporty feel of the cabin. The Typhon provides an adjustable pedal box, electronically adjustable mirrors, electronic boot release and a fully adjustable steering column.

The Typhon provides a decently comfortable ride. The seats are supportive and firm but remain comfortable even on longer journeys. Head and legroom are good and make accessing the cabin area easy.

Parking the Typhon canb be a little on the tricky side. The drive position sits low and limits vision. Caution should be taken when judging the car’s extremities. The Typhon’s steering is light at low speeds and helps out a lot when parking.

TVR Typhon
TVR Typhon
The TVR Typhon provides an excellent driving experience. The Typhon delivers more than enough power and performance to satisfy even the most daring of drivers. The Typhon delivers the performance that has come to be expected from the TVR firm with excellent handling and a good deal of creature comforts as well.

The Typhon is not a family car. It only provides enough seating for two and has limited storage space. The Typhon like other TVR’s is not designed for families on a budget. There are more suitable family cars available but the Typhon would definitely be a fun third car to have around for a family who could afford it.

The Typhon is not a good first car either. There is too much power on hand and the Typhon is too expensive for most first time drivers. Even novice drivers who could afford the Typhon should find a more suitable first car to practice in.

TVR has an excellent reputation for producing beautiful performance cars. The firm has raised the bar a notch or two and is not only focusing on performance in their newest models but also on practicality. TVR’s are still super cars but with an extra touch here and there.

 Security and Safety 2.5/5
The TVR Typhon comes standard with a visible VIN plate, central locking, an engine immobilizer, and a security alarm. Given the car’s kerb appeal a visual deterrent and a tracking device may be a good idea too.

The Typhon’s standard safety features include side impact beams to help strengthen the car’s body in the event of a crash. The amount of safety kit is fairly standard for a car in this class.

 The Finishing Touches 3/5
The Typhon’s standard audio system comes with two speakers and produces good sound quality. The standard unit produces good sound quality even at higher speeds.

The Typhon also comes standard with electric windows with remote window closing, electric boot release, air conditioning, and heated door mirrors. The Typhon also comes with a programmable vehicle information centre, an outside temperature gauge, and gas discharge headlamps.
