The Suzuki 4x4 Jimny is willing and capable. The car really only seats two reasonably. The car’s boot is too small and its on-road ride is rough.
The Suzuki Jimny is at its best when off-roading. The Jimny was designed for fun, from its fun exterior design to its fun off-road performance.
Suzuki Jimny Car Review Summary
Suzuki Jimny
The Suzuki Jimny boasts an attractive and unique style. The small 4x4 boasts lots of practicality and even more fun. Despite the car’s genuine 4x4 abilities it is designed more as a fashion statement than a true workhorse.
The Suzuki Jimny 1.3 litre engine is more than competent cruising around town. The car’s rear seats are small and should be used more for occasional use. The car’s cabin is somewhat cramped, front seat passengers should have ample space but rear passengers don’t fair as well and leg and shoulder room are likely to be limited.
The Suzuki Jimny interior looks cheap and will have difficulty competing with rival brands. The car’s seats are adequate but could have been more comfortable. The car comes with a choice of five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic.
The Jimny provides a poor on-road driving experience. Nothing rewarding or refined, but off-road the Jimny delivers a fun and exciting drive experience. The car seems to be more in its element when it is off the road.
The Suzuki Jimny provides limited boot space. The rear seats will function better as a storage place to hold things of importance. The rear seats should only be used occasionally
Practicality
The Jimny is a bargain buy, and doesn’t deliver the best on-road performance. The car is somewhat impractical and should be thought of as a two-seater and the rear seats could be used for additional storage space. The car’s interior quality lags behind rival brands.
The Suzuki Jimny provides adequate seating for front seat passengers. Rear seat passengers are likely to feel cramped even if they are children. The boot is also too small and impractical.
The Suzuki Jimny controls and dials feel sturdy and are all well placed. The quality feels cheap but the car’s switchgear functions and does what you would expect it to. Displays are large and easy to read.
The Jimny cabin provides adequate comfort for off-roading. The car delivers a bumpy and uncomfortable ride on the road. Off the road the car delivers a better performance and a fun ride. The Jimny was not designed for comfort.
The Suzuki Jimny front seats are highly accessible and the seats are accommodating once inside, but rear seats are too small and cramped. Even after gaining access to the cabin passengers will be hard pressed to gain access to the car’s rear seats. The car’s boot is easily accessible but small.
The Jimny provides a high drive position and provides good visibility. The car’s steering is light at low speeds and makes parking easier. The car’s small size makes it easy to judge the car’s extremities. Large side mirrors help out too.

Life Style
The Jimny provides an exciting and fun off-road experience. On the tarmac however, the ride is rough and the car’s handling could have been better. The Jimny wasn’t designed for performance on the road it was designed to be a true 4x4 in a fun looking package.
This isn’t a family car. It is way too small and unrefined. The Jimny provides poor levels of comfort, and the rear seats are almost unusable due to limited room. The boot is small and wouldn’t cope with family sized items. This is not a good choice of family cars.
This could be used as a first car but doesn’t handle well on the road and can be difficult to drive. 4X4’s usually don’t make the best first cars. Novice drivers could easily get in over their heads. There are better first cars available for the money.
The Suzuki badge is often associated with bargain basement prices. The Jimny targets younger fun-loving buyers. The car will be appealing to younger buyers thanks to its trendy and modern style

Security and Safety
The Suzuki Jimny standard security features include an engine immobilizer and a steering lock. Jimny owners may want to add an extra layer of protection to ensure their Jimny is safe from car thieves.
The Suzuki Jimny standard safety features include driver and passenger airbags, plus ABS brakes and side impact protection beams. This is a good level of safety for the Jimny.
The Finishing Touches
The Suzuki Jimny standard audio unit includes a stereo. The basic unit provides good sound quality and is easy to use.
The Suzuki Jimny Special Edition version receives two-tone metallic paint, front fog lamps and special badging. Models produced after March 2004 receive twin front airbags and ABS as standard.
