Subaru B9 Tribeca Car Review
Subaru B9 Tribeca

The B9 Tribeca is the first full sized SUV produced by Subaru. The Tribeca B9 is designed with mechanicals that have proven successful and delivers serious competition to the high-end brands in this sector of the market.

The B9 Tribeca sports Subaru’s prominent grille and a unique exterior design. The fresh exterior design will be sure to turn a few heads although it may not appeal to everyone.

The Tribeca B9 comes with a completely new interior design. The Tribeca’s cabin boasts quality materials befitting a high-end SUV. Buyers will not be disappointed. The cabin sports a good quality of leather that is attractive and durable.

The B9 comes well equipped even on base level models. The Tribeca includes the flat six engine, four-wheel drive system, and standard five-speed automatic gearbox; the same engine and mechanicals that have proven successful in the rest of the Subaru line-up.

The Tribeca also comes with a seven seat option called the SE 7. The rear seats on the seven seat model are accessed through the Subaru’s rear doors. The five seat model provides three seats across the back and two front seats.

Subaru B9 Tribeca
The B9 Tribeca will be an expensive car to purchase and run. Given the car’s premium status it will be expensive to insure as well. Proven mechanicals should help to insure that maintenance is mostly the routine type.

The B9 provides excellent cabin space for front and rear passengers. Head and legroom is good all-round. The Tribeca’s boot is large and accommodating and the cabin provides several storage spaces too.

The Subaru-Tribeca boasts attractive instrumentation and a good quality of materials. The B9’s controls and displays are large and functional. Everything is logically placed and easy to use.

The Subaru Tribeca provides a smooth and comfortable ride. Abundant cabin space makes it easy for even larger passengers to get comfortable. The B9’s seats are large and supportive but not too firm.

The Tribeca is an easy car to park despite its large size. The Tribeca provides good all-round visibility and easy steering. Higher spec models receive reversing cameras making parking even easier.

 Life Style 4/5
Subaru B9 Tribeca
Subaru B9 Tribeca
The B9 delivers a quiet and smooth ride at lower speeds and a somewhat sporty ride when pushed hard. The ride quality is adequate at speeds but the B9 sometimes feels like it’s searching between the petrol engine and automatic gearbox.

The Subaru Tribeca would make an excellent family car. The B9 provides seating for either five or seven passengers; accommodating even larger passengers comfortably. Boot space is plentiful and can store groceries and other family related items easily.

The Tribeca is not a good choice of first cars. It is too large and expensive. Fuel costs are likely to be high as well. The B9 provides too much power and is too large for most novice drivers to navigate successfully. There are better first cars available.

Subaru’s reputation is one of quality built and reliable vehicles. The Tribeca delivers the same quality build and an impressive interior quality. The attention to fit and finish is obvious and adds to the car’s premium image.

 Security and Safety 3.5/5
The Tribeca’s standard security features include remote central locking, an engine immoboliser and a security alarm. The boot floor lifts up to conceal a private storage area.

The Subaru B9 also comes standard with an impressive safety kit. The Tribeca’s standard safety kit includes six airbags, a safety rollover feature, and ABS.

 The Finishing Touches 4/5
The Tribeca’s standard audio unit includes a six-disc CD changer and a radio with MP3 compatibility. The system provides excellent sound quality. Upgrades are available from the options list.

The Tribeca B9 also comes standard with leather trim that gives the cabin a quality look and feel. The Tribeca’s dash is the only obvious hard plastic finish. The switches and controls also have a quality feel.
