Skoda’s second generation Octavia was designed to impress practically speaking of course. The Octavia doesn’t offer fancy features that are complicated and confusing. What Skoda has traditionally offered in the past was meant to appeal to buyers who placed value for money above aesthetic appeal.

The Octavia’s engines range from a 1.2 litre to a 2.0 litre and its fuel economy ranges from 34.0mpg to 74.0 mpg.

The Skoda Octavia cheap models of the past are gone, and now Skoda sells models that are designed to rival the best makers in terms of quality, practicality and affordability. This new conviction is obvious with the Octavia. The five-door hatchback is definitely worthy of the hype.

Background

The Skoda Octavia is a large family car which was first introduced in 1996 and is available as a 5 door hatchback or an estate.

The first generation model, the Mk1, was in production from 1996 to 2010 with sales beginning in the UK in 1998. The Octavia received a facelift in 2000 and remained under production until 2010 despite the second generation model being introduced in 2004.

The second generation model, the Mk2, has been manufactured since 2004 and is based on the Volkswagen A5 platform common in other cars such as the Audi A3. In the UK the Mk2 can come with one of seven trim levels: Classic 4x4 (Estate only), Laurin & Klement, Ambiente, Scout 4x4 (Estate only), Elegance, and vRS.

Summary

The Skoda Octavia still delivers a nice ride at an affordable price. The estate variant makes the Octavia much more desirable. Although the car was already practical car, it will appeal to a wider group of buyers.
