Perodua Kenari Car Review
Perodua Kenari

The Perodua Kenari is a small MPV that was designed to zip in and out of city traffic and that is just what it does. The Kenari comes with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual gearbox. This is plenty of power for the Kenari to maneuver in and out of traffic even on the most congested roads.

The Kenari is offered at a bargain price and though some of the plastics used in the interior seem cheap, the Kenari still provides good value for the money. Fuel economy is good even when pushed hard.

The Kenari provides adequate passenger space with good headroom, but the boot runs a little on the small side. The Kenari delivers a ride comparable to what one would expect from a car of this size and price range.

The Kenari seems to handle most surfaces well and light steering makes it easy to maneuver. Crosswinds can pose problems for the Kenari though and it is better suited for in-town driving.

Perodua Kenari
Perodua Kenari
The Kenari is bargain priced and although the warranty could be better the car is decently equipped given the price. Fuel economy is good and insurance rates are low. The Kenari is well built and should have decent resale values.

The Kenari is a small car but provides adequate amounts of passenger space. Headroom is good but boot space is limited. Rear seats will be better suited for smaller passengers.

The Kenari’s controls and dials are functional and logically placed. The plastics are shiny and have a cheap look and feel but seem to be sturdy and durable.

Buyers will either find the Kenari’s cabin to be either comfortable or uncomfortable. The steering wheel and seats do not adjust for comfort. The ride quality is predictable from a car of this size.

The Kenari provides good all-round vision and light steering so parking is a non issue. Thanks to the Kenari’s small size it fits into even the smallest parking space with minimum fuss.

Perodua Kenari
The Kenari was not designed for speed but it does a more than adequate job cruising around town and through crowded parking lots. The 1.0-litre engine does a good job of providing enough pep to power the Kenari.

The Perodua Kenari is not a good choice for a family car. It is simply too small and would not comfortably accommodate a growing family. The Kenari’s boot is too small to cope with family related items. The Kenari would make a good second car or a great commuter car though.

The Kenari would make an excellent first car. It is priced right and a great size for a novice driver. The Kenari’s light steering makes it easy to maneuver and drive, insurance is affordable and the warranty will be attractive to novice drivers.

The Kenari seems well built despite the cheap feel of the cabin materials. The warranty will help put some minds at ease but the Kenari is likely to depreciate quickly.

 Security and Safety 2.5/5
The Kenari comes standard with central locking but deadbolts are not offered. For buyers who desire a little more in the way of security a visual deterrent may be desired.

The Kenari’s standard safety features include twin front airbags and three-point seat belt pretensioners. The Kenari does not come equipped with anti-lock brakes or traction control.

 The Finishing Touches 2.5/5
The Kenari’s standard audio unit features a radio/CD (not unique fit). The standard unit provides decent sound quality.

The Kenari also comes standard with power assisted steering, electric front windows, CD player, and metallic paint.
