Perodua (Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Berhad) which translates to the ‘Second Automobile Manufacturer Limited Corporation’ is Malaysia’s second largest automobile manufacturer.
Perodua was established in 1993 and specializes in mostly compact cars. The firm’s cars are prevalent not only in Malaysia but also in the United Kingdom. The Perodua brand is a bargain priced brand that usually sells below the price of Proton.
The Malaysian firm prides itself on its competent, knowledgeable, and proficient workforce and Perodua’s ability to compete in a global market. Although a relatively new company the firm has definite ideas about where the company is heading.

Perodua is a Malaysian automobile manufacturer. The company was originally founded in 1993 and is Malaysia’s second largest car manufacturer.
Perodua produces mostly compact cars designed to attract buyers who are looking for something a little less costly than Malaysia’s Proton brand (the largest car manufacturer in Malaysia).
In 1997 the company held a competition in order to design a new logo. The competition was won by a Malaysian University student. The logo maintains the ‘P’ and the ‘2’ from the original logo yet presents a more stylish and sophisticated image. The green colour in the logo symbolizes social responsibility to the environment and to the community while the red in the logo represents the development of a competent workforce and the ability to compete in a globalised world.
Perodua is best known for models such as the Kelisa, Kenari, and the Myvi.
The Perodua Kelisa is a compact car. The design is based on the seventh generation Daihatsu Mira. The four-door hatchback was first introduced in 2000 and has a top speed of 88mph but gets approximately 55 miles per gallon.
The Perodua Kenari is a small MPV. The Kenari seats five and sports a 3-cylinder engine. The car boasts a maximum speed of 88mph and delivers excellent gas mileage.
The Perodua Myvi is a supermini car that was first produced in 2005. The car comes in five-door hatchback form with a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder engine. The Myvi is available in an assortment of colours.
