Mitsubishi Lancer
The Lancer offers a lot of performance for a very reasonable price. The car easily accommodates passengers and cargo. The negatives are a firm ride and relatively poor fuel economy.
Mitsubishi Lancer Car Review Summary
Mitsubishi is known for building good value cars across many market segments. The company’s reputation has been built on providing good value cars and popular 4x4s. Mitsubishi’s performance model is the Lancer Evolution, and includes the basic principle of a four-wheel drive transmission and a turbocharged engine.
The Lancer is a popular model due to its motorsport heritage. The car’s exterior boasts aggressive scoops and a large rear wing. The car offers excellent performance and is appealing to more enthusiastic drivers. The car’s sporty driver’s seat and Momo steering wheel completes the car’s sporty feel.
The Lancer's engine has been enhanced and modified to increase the car’s performance. The new engine uses a variable valve timing system as well as turbocharger modifications. The engine provides rapid acceleration in every gear.
The car’s four-wheel drive system combined with a six-speed gearbox helps provide all the power and spirit that the car needs. The car has been designed for good handling and grip to enhance the driving experience.
The car deliver’s exceptional performance capabilities but still provides the functionality of a family car. The only change to the car’s bodyshape was the addition of spoilers and scoops. The passenger and luggage space is unchanged and equal to that of the conventional Lancer saloon.
Practicality
The car provides excellent value for money, but fuel costs and insurance rates will be high. The engine will require super-unleaded fuel.
The car provides adequate passenger space for five with good head and legroom. The car’s boot is spacious and can carry quite a bit of luggage and other large cargo items.
The cars controls and dials are easy to use and functional. The car’s rev counter is centrally placed with the speedometer to the left. This makes it a tiny bit difficult to read but doesn’t pose a huge problem.
Despite the good levels of performance being offered by the Lancer, comfort levels are still high. The front seats provide good support and are extremely comfortable. The rear bench is comfortable but not as nice as the front seats.
The car’s front seats can be more difficult to access due to the heavily bolstered seats being more difficult to sit down in. The rear seats are much easier to access and shouldn’t be problematic at all.
Parking is not difficult but the rear wing does limit visibility. The car’s large door mirrors help out a lot when it comes to parking. The cars alloy wheels are easy to kerb so drivers must be careful when parking.

Life Style
Drivers will be attracted to the performance aspect of the Evolution. The highly developed 2.0-litre engine delivers great power and torque. The car is really flexible and docile when driven at low speeds. The six-speed gearbox is smooth, and the four-wheel drive system is easy to operate and functional.
This would be a good family car with a good deal of practicality. With all the space and practicality on offer as a family car it is also fast and as capable as many supercars. Some families may find the ride harsh but for the most part the car is more than capable of performing family duties.
This car is likely to be far too expensive for most first time car buyers. The car also offers a lot of performance and may prove to be too much for a novice driver. The car can also prove to be tricky to park. More suitable cars are available for newly licensed drivers.
The interior design is neat and tidy, but some of the cain materials com across as cheap. Even the lesser quality materials seem rugged and durable. The Evolution badge commands respect with performance enthusiasts. The overall quality of the car gives the impression of a well built car.

Security and Safety
The car comes equipped with remote central locking and an engine immobiliser. A Tracker system is also available, and will come in handy if the car is targeted by thieves.
The Lancer comes standard with many safety features, such as twin front airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners and side-impact door bars. The car also offers ABS.
The Finishing Touches
The basic stereo is dealer fitted. The six-speaker set up delivers good sound quality. The use of an aftermarket unit does mean that they are narrower than most original specification units.
The majority of the Lancer interior is black or grey, and the steering wheel is trimmed in leather. The sports Recaro seats are leather and Alcantara.
