The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most popular 4x4’s ever produced. The new model boasts a comprehensive specification and lower price tag.
Viewed by many as the original 4x4 vehicle, the Jeep brand has designed the Wrangler with a similar look between it and the original 1940s model Jeep. The Jeep brand is well known and sold worldwide and is constantly being enhanced to keep up with the competition.
Jeep has included a generous equipment upgrade that includes alloy wheels, cruise control, air conditioning and a seven-speaker stereo system.
This Wrangler is equipped with a 4.0-litre petrol engine. The four-wheel drive system has three operating modes to allow drivers to adapt to various road conditions, with two-wheel drive being used for most on-road conditions.
The Jeep Wrangler is also designed for off-road use. The Wrangler provides better suspension and superior climbing ability. The Jeep’s steering is a bit vague with a poor turning circle, but the car’s sturdy 4.0-litre engine is torquey and delivers plenty of power. The Wrangler provides all around good value for the money whether you plan on keeping it on the road, off the road, or somwhere in between.
Practicality
The Wrangler can be purchased for a reasonable price. Insurance on the Wrangler should also be affordable. Both are very good things because buyers will nedd the extra money for fuel. The 4.0-litre engine tends to be thirsty.
Jeep Wrangler front seat passengers have more than adequate space. Rear passengers have more limited head and legroom and some passengers may become uncomfortable during longer trips. The Wrangler is very practical for off-roading. The interior can be hosed down and there are convenient drainage holes/plugs in the floor.
The Jeep Wrangler controls and dials in the Wrangler’s cabin are large and easy to use. They are straightforward and located where you would expect to find them. Displays are large and easy to read however, the cabin’s features do have an outdated but rugged feel to them.
The Jeep cabin is as comfortable as would be expected. Engine and road noise are loud inside the cabin, but the car’s seats are firm and relatively comfortable. The addition of air conditioning is a very welcome and nice touch.
Access to the Jeep Wrangler cabin can be tricky. Passengers must step up into the cabin. Front seat passengers enjoy a wide door aperture and fron access is much easier. Rear passengers must fold down the front seats in order to gain access.
Parking the Wrangler can also be tricky. Visibility is good due to the high seating position of the driver. The car’s steering makes getting in and out of smaller spaces a challenge.

The high driving position of the Jeep Wrangler is terrific while navigating through traffic. The 4.0-litre engine provides good torque, and plenty of noise. The six-speed gearbox is slow shifting but decent. The biggest issue is the steering, which lacks feel and requires plenty of input. Off-road the Wrangler handles superbly with impressive climbing ability and grip.
The Wrangler easily seats four and could be used as a family vehicle for a small family. The Wrangler could perform family duties well, and the removable rear roof section allows top down motoring. However, with the rear seats occupied boot space is limited, and reduces storage space significantly. The Wrangler is not a comfortable or luxurious family car, but it could functionally transport a small family.
The Wrangler could be used as a first car but probably wouldn’t be the best choice available. The car’s steering makes it difficult to park, and the car’s engine uses a lot of fuel making it expensive to drive. There are better choices for a novice driver.
The Jeep Wrangler is a well-built vehicle. The materials used inside the cabin feel cheap and could have certainly been improved with little effort. The Wrangler upholds the company’s image for being tough and durable with outstanding off-road capabilities, but if you plan on stayiong on the road the Wrangler may not be the best choice for you.

The Wrangler’s soft top makes it more suseptable to thievery. The car comes standard with an engine immobolizer and locking wheel nuts.
The Jeep Wrangler is equipped with standard twin front airbags, three point seat belts on all four seats and ABS. These safety features may seem on the skimpy side compared to more modern standards.
The Finishing Touches
The Jeep Wrangler standard stereo unit includes a CD player and radio tuner with seven speakers. The system delivers decent sound quality and comes with functional buttons and displays. The basic functions are also duplicated on the steering wheel.
The Jeep Wrangler cabin is trimmed in various shades of grey. The cloth is a darker shade of grey and the plastics are black. The plastics aren’t the best quality, but they aren’t the worst either.
