Honda S2000
Review Summary
The Honda S2000 provides a great driving experience. This car was designed more for the thrill of driving than for comfort. The S2000 is definitely worth test driving for buyers who love a fast, energetic ride.

Honda S2000 Car Review
The S2000 is a two-seater Japanese roadster that boasts quality technology that has become indicative of the Japanese firm. The S2000 is up against stiff competition from some big name rivals. The car’s high-tech feel gives it a unique characteristic.

The Honda S2000 comes with a 2.0-litre engine that boasts high output and quality performance. The car comes with a folding roof mechanism and takes only seconds to either raise or lower the roof. Honda also offers a hard top as a cost option.

The S2000 controls are mounted on two pods located on either side of the steering wheel. The car has a clear plastic wind deflector mounted between the seats. The clear shield does not hinder rearward vision and is a nice addition to the car.

The Honda S2000 engine is powerful and delivers a very fast ride, while the steering is well weighted. The exterior body style is sleek and attractive with minor updates to keep the car looking modern and fresh. The engine is very spirited and performs well, but to top it all off the engine sounds great too, it doesn’t get much better as far as roadsters go.

You can visit the official Honda UK website for more information about the latest Honda S2000 range.

Honda S2000
Honda S2000
The Honda S2000 is an expensive car to purchase and to run. Insurance rates are also high for the S2000. Fuel economy is reasonable given the amount of performance that the car provides.

There is limited space everywhere in the S2000. Head and legroom are adequate, but there isn’t much elbowroom. The boot is seriously limited as well. It is very small thanks to the spare tyre. There is a small storage space behind the seats but it is somewhat difficult to access.

The S2000 dials, controls, and displays are very unique, with a digital speedometer and a bar typed rev counter. The display is large and easy to read but takes a little getting used to. The steering wheel houses the rest of the car’s controls.

Due to the aggressive nature of the S2000 some comfort is sacrificed. The car delivers a firm ride and road noise is pretty loud inside the cabin. The seats are reasonably comfortable, and the steering wheel position is not adjustable so it may pose a problem for some drivers.

Accessibility to the Honda S2000 cabin can be quite a chore. With the roof down accessibility is decent. The seats sit low and it can be difficult to get in and out depending on the size of the passengers. With the top up access requires passengers to bend down low to gain access to the seats.

The S2000 is easy to park if the top is down, because the all around visibility is good. With the top up rearward visibility is extremely limited.

Honda S2000
Honda S2000
The S2000 has good driver appeal thanks to its powerful engine that utilizes the V-tec system and provides good output. The car’s engine revs to 9,000rpm and sounds like a racecar. The high-octane experience is very rewarding for the driver. The handling and braking system are excellent.

The Honda S2000 is not a family car. Limited space and storage keeps the S2000 from being a logical choice for families. In fact the S2000 is not even a consideration as a family car with only two seats available.

The S2000 is a quality built vehicle with quality materials. The cabin feels a bit dated but has some very contemporary features. Honda deserves recognition for their engineering excellence and the roadster focuses more on delivering performance and driver appeal than on image.

 Security and Safety 3.5/5
The Honda S2000 is equipped with an alarm that is designed to detect break-ins but to ignore fluctuations caused by the fabric top. The car also comes standard with remote central locking.

The S2000 comes standard with twin front airbags, ABS, and an excellent braking system.

 The Finishing Touches 4/5
The Honda S2000 standard stereo unit includes a radio/CD player. The unit has large controls that are easy to use, and provides good sound quality. The basic controls are duplicated on the steering wheel for the driver’s convenience.

The Honda S2000 cabin interior looks best with black leather. It looks good and blends nicely with the cabins black and silver plastics. The quality of the cabin materials is somewhat inferior to that of competitors.
