Ford Galaxy
The Ford Galaxy has been much improved but at the same time has managed to retain most of the positives of its predecessor. The highlight of this vehicle is it’s capacity to comfortably seat seven.
Ford Galaxy Car Review Summary
Ford Galaxy
The Ford Galaxy is best known for its people carrying capabilities. In its latest version Ford has gone all out to make the Ford Galaxy more stylish yet keeping its main functionality.
The Galaxy provides adequate seating for seven people but fits five very comfortably. Rear passengers have adequate head and legroom and the cabin hosts several storage cubbies including overhead lockers.
The Galaxy is an easy car to drive despite its large size. The driver sits up high and provides good visibility. The suspension setting provides a smooth, pleasant ride. The Galaxy handles as well in the city as it does on the motorway traveling on long trips.
The latest version of the Ford Galaxy provides improved cabin materials geared toward passenger comfort and boasts the car’s new fold flat seats. The seats are firm and supportive but fold down easily.
The Galaxy’s new exterior design is not all that different from the original. It is a decent looking vehicle, but the design does not conceal the fact that it was built to be a people carrier and it was not built exclusively for style. That being said, the Galaxy is a well-built machine that comfortably carries people to and fro.
Practicality
The Ford Galaxy is a fairly expensive vehicle. Its value for money ratio is very good though. The buyer really does get what is being paid for. The car comes with an impressive overall package and has the ability to carry seven people adequately.
The Ford Galaxy has more than enough head, leg, and elbowroom for passengers, and Ford’s Fold Flat System allows the second and third row of seats to fold flat without having to be removed from the vehicle for extra cargo space. This system actually increases the car’s cargo carrying abilities by providing a third more storage space.
The Ford Galaxy controls and dials are easy to find and use. The steering wheel controls have been mounted on the mobile phone’s toggle switch, and the car’s parking brake has been replaced by a switch.
Seats are large and supportive, and the Galaxy is now heavier than its predecessor and is able to completely minimize road and engine noise. Pitch and roll are also much better than might be expected from a vehicle of this size.
The Ford Galaxy doors open wide providing good accessibility to the cabin. Front and rear rows of passengers should have minimal difficulty with access and egress. The boot is highly accessible as well with the door opening up to expose a good deal of the rear, but the boot floor sits a bit too low and may complicate loading heavier cargo.
The Galaxy can be tricky to park due to its large size. Parking sensors are a must have with this vehicle and will greatly enhance the parking experience. Drivers should practice parking the Galaxy in a wide open and non-crowded area before venturing to the mall.

Life Style
The Ford Galaxy is built to transport people and not for speed, but when pushed hard it has adequate power to deliver good speed and handles well in various driving situations whether in the city or on the motorway.
The Galaxy is an ideal family car. It is spacious enough and provides many creature comforts that would make transporting a large family comfortable and safe. The cabin design is family-friendly and the materials are durable enough to stand up well to the challenges that children present.
The Galaxy would not make a very good first car. It is a very expensive vehicle with high running costs and is too large for most new drivers to safely judge distance. The car is also difficult to park and insurance rates would be high as well. There is probably a more practical vehicle for novice drivers.
The Ford Galaxy sports much improved quality but it still seems to have the image of a large people carrier that is bought when there are no other options available. This image does not do justice to the Galaxy and its quality build, practicality, and high levels of comfort.

Security and Safety
All Ford Galaxy models come standard with remote central locking, deadbolts, and an engine immobilizer. Most models come equipped with an alarm system with the exception of the LX, where the alarm system is a cost option.
The Galaxy offers buyers an impressive level of standard safety, such as crumples zones built from steel, front, side, and curtain airbags. The Galaxy even comes with a driver’s side knee bag. There are many additional options available.
The Finishing Touches
The Ford Galaxy standard stereo system provides good sound quality, and provides a jack in the glovebox for plugging an iPod or MP3 player directly into the system. DVD screens are optional as well as other system upgrades.
Due to the size and nature of this vehicle metallic colours seem to suit the car’s exterior the best. Avoid flat colours because they will decrease the vehicle’s resale value.
