The Focus has a comfortable and spacious cabin, with head and legroom plentiful in the front and more than adequate in the rear. The car has a large boot with room for a decent amount of luggage. The interior is neatly trimmed and finished with high quality materials, while the control system is attractively laid out and easy to use.


The Ford Focus delivers a smooth, enjoyable and refined driving experience. It has quick acceleration and responsive steering, making the car very easy to handle. The model comes with a great selection of engines, the most economical of which is the 1.6 litre diesel. Additionally, the Focus comes as standard with a 6-speed transmission and a good level of standard equipment.

Background

The Ford Focus was introduced in its first generation from 1998.


The model was produced as a hatchback, saloon, estate and convertible. A wide range of engines and transmissions were available, including a 1.8 litre diesel.


The car was given a facelift in 2001, sporting a revised exterior with optional extras available including a 6-disc CD changer and a satellite navigation system. The trim levels were modified and new colours were available.

The Ford Focus entered its second generation in 2004, produced as a 3-door or 5-door hatchback and a 5-door estate. The trim levels were improved, with top of the range models coming with an MP3 player and sports seats as standard, and the engine options were upgraded. Moreover, the car gained the best ever Euro NCAP safety ratings for its class.


The current generation Focus has been in production since 2010. It comes with a greater level of standard equipment than its predecessor and a 6-speed manual transmission as standard.
