 Practicality 3/5
BMW X5
BMW X5
The BMW X5 is a costly car to buy, and the options that are offered only raise the price even higher. The X5 is also a costly car to run, it is not economical on fuel, and insurance is higher than on most cars. On the other hand, the X5 has a higher resale value than any of its competitors.

BMW's X5 split tailgate might limit access for some to the lower section of the boot. The X5’s rear seats fold down to create more carrying space for larger cargo. The car’s center console serves as oddment storage.

The controls are well thought out and well placed in the cabin of the X5. BMW didn’t over complicate things and the driver can access and use everything comfortably. Even the vehicle’s comprehensive trip computer is user friendly. The no hassle controls makes the X5 a pleasant driving experience.

The BMW X5 delivers a rough ride at times. The cabin however, is quite comfortable with supportive seats and a multitude of seating positions.

Gaining access to the vehicle is easy with wide opening doors and plenty of legroom and headroom. Accessing items in the boot can be a little more difficult. The deep boot may pose some problems especially for some shorter people who will have difficulty reaching some items.

The X5 is fairly easy to park, despite its large size. The driver sits up high and has good visibility, and the large exterior mirrors provide a clear exterior view. The X5 also comes standard with parking sensors.

 Life Style 4/5
BMW X5
BMW X5
The BMW X5 looks like an SUV, but it drives like a much sportier vehicle. While all of the engine options are high performers, the diesel engine steals the show. The V8 engine has a nice sound, but is way less fuel efficient.

The X5 would make an excellent family vehicle for families who could afford to fuel it. The vehicles large size and 4-wheel drive capabilities makes it a top choice for families. The BMW X5 is practical and spacious for a family vehicle and would suit the rigors of family life well.

This would not be a great first car. It comes with a hefty price tag, a long waiting list, and it’s a gas hog. Even if a new driver could afford it, the car is physically too big to be ideal for an inexperienced driver, not to mention that the X5 is a fairly powerful vehicle.

According to the long waiting list for the X5 it must have a good image among prospective buyers. BMW has become synonymous with quality and have developed a loyal following through the years. The X5 is a quality vehicle that sports a great image and a high-class brand name.
