Seat Ibiza Car Review
Seat Ibiza

Competition in the supermini segment is quite steep and Seat decided to introduce a modern and more competitive Ibiza. Equipment levels have been improved and enhancements have been made to the car’s exterior design as well. The Ibiza now boasts improved style and performance. Even with enhancements the Ibiza will face difficult competition from rival brands. Obvious changes have been made to the Ibiza’s exterior. A new front bumper is fitted to all models, as are twin headlights for a sportier appearance. A modified rear bumper features a mock diffuser for a sportier race car touch. The smallest wheel available is now 15 inches, one size larger than before. Inside the Seat Ibiza a three spoke steering wheel is fitted with stereo controls on some models. New upholstery designs and colours are available as well as new gearknob designs. For the most part the dashboard remains unchanged. All Seat Ibiza models come with remote central locking, adjustable steering wheel, twin front airbags and a radio/CD player. Air conditioning also comes standard in all models apart from the entry-level Reference. The Ibiza also benefits from suspension and steering enhancements, designed to improve the car’s ride and handling. Soft springs and stiffer shock absorbers have been added.

Seat Ibiza
The Ibiza is competitively priced to sell and enjoys low running costs. The petrol engine delivers good fuel economy and insurance rate should be low as well.

Despite the fact that the Ibiza is one of the smallest superminis offered, it also provides a decent amount of cabin space. Front passengers enjoy decent head and legroom while rear passengers are more limited. The car provides good boot space and a wide load area.

The Seat Ibiza has received new instrument facings that are stylish and easier to read. The car’s other controls are are easy to use and conveniently located on the centre console.

The Ibiza provides a decent level of cabin space for a supermini. Wind and engine noise are successfully kept to a minimum. The front seats offer good levels of comfort and support and rear seats are comfortable for smaller passengers.

The Seat Ibiza provides good access with wide door openings and a boot that opens wide for easy access as well. Accessing the car’s rear seats is easy for most average sized passengers. Larger passengers may have more difficulty gaining access to the car’s rear seats.

The Ibiza’s small size and all-round good visibility make parking super easy. The Ibiza is easy to park even in tight spaces thanks to the car’s light steering.

Seat Ibiza
The Seat Ibiza 1.4 litre engine is a decent performer, although its output is only modest, it is quick to rev and responds sharply to acceleration. The steering and suspension have a sporty feel, and is a fun car to drive.

The five-door Ibiza would make a decent family car. It provides sufficien cabin space and very good boot space. Smaller children can easily fit into the rear seats. A larger family would not fit as well or be comfortable with the Ibiza as the primary family vehicle.

The Ibiza would make an excellent first car. The 1.4-litre Sport form is a good choice. The Ibiza is easy to drive and comes with a low asking price. Maintaining and insuring the car should be reasonable as well. The car’s attractive exterior styling and sproty appeal make it attractive to young buyers.

The Seat Ibiza is made of quality materials and the cabin feels durable and solid. The controls also have a quality feel and operate very well. The Ibiza's sporty look is very complimentary to the company’s image.

 Security and Safety 3.5/5
The Seat Ibiza comes equipped standard with an encrypted engine immobiliser and remote central locking with deadlocks. The car is also fitted with a locking fuel cap.

All Seat Ibiza models are fitted with twin front airbags with a deactivation switch for the passenger side. ABS and front seatbelt pre-tensioners also come standard.

 The Finishing Touches 3.5/5
The Ibiza’s standard audio system includes a simple DIN-sized stereo. The unit includes a radio/CD player. The unit provides reasonable sound quality. Some of the buttons are small and difficult to use, but the display is clear and functional.

Black dominates the Seat Ibiza interior the dominating colour as black. Light coloured touches help to lighten the interior, but it will still be too dark for some tastes. The materials themselves feel sturdy and durable.
